Note added to goal Answer the "50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind"
1.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? 22
2.Which is worse, failing or never trying? Failing.
3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
For me, the former is done due to obligation to family, friends, society, culture, etc. and the latter doesn't get done because I lack time, money, energy that I have already spent on the former.
4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
Probably, but hopefully not.
5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
Hypocrisy. I try to keep myself in check, but even I
fall short sometimes.
6.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Helping people in some way.
7.Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
Settling, because I haven't been taking control of my own life.
8.If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would work harder, love harder, play harder. Then with my last 10 years, I would live near the ocean and make and sell jewelry. Write a book. Travel.
9.To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
I have just been along for the ride so far, and I feel like I need to start taking control.
10.Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Doing the right things.
11.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
Tell them that he/she is a close friend and that they cannot see the entire picture.
12.If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don't take anything for granted.
13.Would you break the law to save a loved one?
If their life was in immediate danger, of course.
14.Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
Yes.
15.What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Live.
16.How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
Everyone is different.
17.What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Take a yoga class. Money and shyness are holding me back. Right now I feel that it is difficult for me to stand on my own.
18.Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Every day.
19.If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
State- Cape Cod, MA. I have always wanted to live by the ocean, but this seems to
39.Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before?
Not this particular day, but others, yes.
40.When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?
41.If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
Both of my parents.
42.Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?
No.
43.What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
You can just be alive and walk through life not really living, or you can truly live and love and do things that make you and the people that you love happy.
44.When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right?
When I get over my fears.
45.If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
Because it seems like we are failing, and failing is not a pleasant feeling, even if we are learning from it.
46.What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would live my entire life differently. I really do take to heart and value the opinions of the people I love.
47.When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?
When I was back home at night, outside in the fog. It was so quiet and beautiful, but since I started living in this city, the quiet almost scares me.
48.What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love?
I love the people that I love. Yes. As far as physical or activities that I love, I feel like I am not as in tune with those things and cannot find a medium to express them as well.
49.In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that?
Probably not, unless the day really stood out somehow.
50.Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?
Right now I am making them for myself, but sometimes I let other people take charge of myself due to the sheer simplicity of it. I need to stop doing that.
