I just made the Deviled Avocado Eggs that can be found on my Pinterest Board "Exploring Food List". They are extremely different. For my personal preference they are too lime-y and bland tasting. I am much more of a mustard intensive deviled egg and really flavorful guacamole. Jeremy hasn't eaten them yet, but we will see. The recipe also called for way to many avocados and I now have an abundance of filling that I need to use so it doesn't go to waste.
I watched the documentary and it started off really factual and interesting and kin dof went too far down the path of opinions held by hippies, but it did have a few good overarching concepts to keep in mind. Eat natural to be healthy, eliminate stressors, juicing, exercise, and positive self image through affirmatives. I think all of those basic ideas are good and I need to incorporate more of them into our lives.
I made a Dr. Pepper chili and it is pretty good. The recipe is on my Pinterest board labelled "Exploring Foods List" It is a little sweeter than I prefer chili to be, but it is tasty with a lot of flavor. Cut the sweetness with sour cream and cheese. I really enjoyed this new recipe for chili.
I LOVE THESE!!!!! I only made 12, but my combinations were blueberry/thyme, blueberry/basil, strawberry/thyme, strawberry/basil, and strawberry/blueberry/thyme/basil. My favorite flavor so far is strawberry/basil. There is just endless possibilities to these recipe. And I feel like it is a dessert you can eat a lunch time and not feel like a fat ass
I made a cranberry almond tuna salad, which I have never made before. Usually, I like to do either pickles in my tuna for tanginess or apples for a sweetness. This salad just feels FANCY! I love it. I feels so light and fresh to eat with the raw spinach and herbs. I've never made a sandwich using raw spinach as a lettuce, but is crisp and good. I think this may be my new favorite wayto make tuna salad. I plan on keeping an eye out for lavendar to put it in, but I couldn't finnd any tonight. I do think it would completely elevate the flavors though.
I made a cheese ball for an appetizer, roasted vegetables, broccoli casserole, and a brownie and peppermint ice cream pie. Jeremy made dressing and a spiral ham. Overall I think the dinner was a success. It wasn't the best dinner we ever made, but it was good. The cheese ball was a huge hit and I would love to try the other two recipes for it that I didn't do. The broccoli casserole seemed to be liked overall, but I wish the cream had been thicker and the flavor a little better. The roasted vegetables were good, but I'm just not a huge fan of lemon flavor and the potatoes needed to be cooked a little more and a little more salt. The dessert was delicious, but the recipe led me astray. Don't put the ice cream on the brownie and then put it in the freezer. The ham was good, but it just needed to be heated up. The dressing flavor was great as always, but was a little too moist. It was because he cooked it in the cast iron. I enjoyed cooking the meal with Jeremy. We actually worked well together. See my Pinterest board "Exploring Food List" for recipes used.
Finished 8/27/14. I gave my book of American short stories to Morgan Araldi. Hopefully it will travel some. I want to continue using this website and maybe make it a little more popular in this area. I really enjoy the concept of a giant worldwide network for sharing books of all kinds.
Sent off 10"-11" of my hair to Locks of Love. I requested a confirmation from them via e-mail so when I get that I will add another note or possibly photo of it. I am enjoying my hair being this short, even though I cut it uneven. Once it grows out a little I will straighten it up.
Finished 8/5/14. The last one made was Monsters University. It was the only one I have never seen before and it was cute. It surprises me that the style of Pixar hasn't seemed to change at all since Toy Story. It makes me wonder if they have progressed enough or if they started so progressive no one has caught up yet to make them feel the need to progress more.
8/3/14- Made "Pulled Pork" Spaghetti Squash Tartine. I was really good. I think the cheese balanced out the vinegar flavors nicely. The link to the recipe: http://www.abrowntable.com/home/rowntable.com/2013/12/pulled-barbecue-spaghetti-squash.html
Finished baking them on 8/1/14. They were a pain in the ass to make and I managed to make them bigger than I think they were suppose to be. But I can't wait to bite into one. I am still waiting for them to cool.
