Virginia
I am the mother of two (13, 11) and I've been married for 28 years. I work part time and take care of my kids part time. I love reading, crafts, quiet (lol, not much of that these days), and so many other things that I don't have time for right now...

Well we had our first weekend and it was wonderful as always. Sadly, my dear friend who helped organize us passed away unexpectedly in April. At least we will always have the memories of our weekends. But the rest of us have vowed to continue to get together in her honor, as hard as it will be to do.
Well, Andy and I tried a little diner that opened near us a few months ago. I had high hopes - I like diners. But I have to say we were disappointed. My meal was fine - but it is hard to mess up a waffle. The grits that they said were "honest to goodness" grits had an odd flavor, so much so that I couldn't eat them. Andy's was just odd. And our appetizer was just odd. Oh well. All the restaurants we try can't be winners. It was worth going but I doubt we'll go back.
My husband and I, along with four of our friends, went to a Thai restaurant that at least the two of us had never been to before. Andy got drunken noodles (I cannot remember the proper name for them) and I had chicken pad Thai. Both were fantastic. I definitely want to go back.

* I plan to read Seven Spiritual Laws of Success"
April 2019
* Well I didn't finish February's books - or even start any for March or April.
* I plan on starting in May.
Well, a week ago from tomorrow, I lost one of my dearest friends and fellow ladies' weekend enthusiast. She passed away following neck surgery. I'm still in shock.
2/27/19 - music night instead of TV
February 13, 2019 - I started my spiritual journal today. For now I am keeping it private, but it is computer-based. I don't know if I will keep that format.
February 2019 - having a ladies' weekend in two weeks. I think this counts as getting out with a friend this month. We're going to Williamsburg, VA, and staying in a time share. I think it will be absolutely wonderful - talking, wine, and perhaps some history.
February 2019
* The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra
* The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Tonight my husband and I went to a restaurant called Highway 55 (burgers, shakes, and fries). It has a diner-like feel and atmosphere. The food was good, the price was reasonable, and the milkshake I had was delicious. I think we'll be going back.
My first weekend with my friends in 2019 is coming up this month and I am really looking forward to talking, laughing, and imbibing wine
