I thought I would hate travelling by myself. I didn't. Maybe it was Berlin itself that was able to occupy me so thoroughly. It was a safe city in which I felt I could be out alone until after dark. I participated in four different tours to keep me busy. The three cycle tours were perfect in helping me meet and chat to people. I found people to hang with when I watched the German v Brazil semi final game (7-1!). I stayed in touch with people at home using Instagram and iMessage.
I liked the independence. I liked being able to stay in bed when I wanted, or in a park to read or chose my own destinations to two days I rented a bike. I was relaxed. I moved slowly, ate and drank independently.
