I've read 16 books this year, but I have not had time to read non-school books necessarily. I've just had such a large amount of school reading to do, and I'm reading about 6 different books/textbooks/anthologies at once for classes as it is. Read Shakespeare's Tempest last night for a reading. Lots of fun! 27 jan 2013

I read The Comfort of Strangers by Ian McEwan yesterday, and it's the fourth of his books that I've read (I've also read On Chesil Beach, Atonement, and Saturday). He's definitely a fascinating author even if The Comfort of Strangers kinda freaked me out!! 2/52 books for the year so far!

I finished the Lord of the Rings series for the first week, which might be cheating because it is actually a book we're covering in class, but I'm counting it because I picked it up of my own volition! And it was wonderful. The best book I've read in a very long time, and I'm sure I will re-read it again soon. (less)
