I already love this genre, so of course this one was fun-- and it was great to have a new Paula Hawkins to use for it. A great murder mystery set in a little houseboat river community, with deliciously nasty characters all full of secrets, and a fantastic triumph at the end. Very satisfying.
“The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” by Stuart Turton
Djevojka u vlaku / Paula Hawkin
This one was a historical forensic/police procedural set in 1890s France, so that's a lot of the right boxes ticked for me. It was a fun read, not great, but I already read a ton of mysteries and thrillers so it wasn't terribly important to me that this be the perfect book for it. And still a lot of fun.
