1: Alison Ledgerwood: a simple trick to improve positive thinking. Reaffirmed that I need to note the positives from my day to retrain my mind to think in a positive way

2: Daniel Goldstein: the battle between you present self and future self. Focusing on money but able to think about his talk to my situation. A reminder that self discipline is a muscle - the more you use it the stronger it becomes.

3: Judson Brewer: a simple way to break a bad habit. Be curious was the key msg. When you feel like having a smoke or eating a fourth cookie stop and think how you are feeling and what your body is doing at the time. Apparently doing so will allow the craving or habit to go away.

4: Niko Everett: a guide to building self esteem. Turn up the volume on positive thoughts you have about yourself and turn down the volume and delete negative and critical things you think about yourself.

5: Alison Ledgerwood: getting stuck in the negatives. It is much easier to think of and hang onto negatives. With a bit of work, such as identifying what we are grateful for each day we can switch the negatives to positives. Yes you had a bad day but what was a positive that happened?

6. Sarah Knight: the magic of not giving a f. Don't feel bad saying no. Mentally declutter and decide what I want to spend my time, energy and money on. If I don't want to go to a party, then don't - be polite about it but don't change your mind at the last minute and not turn up when you didn't have any intention of turning up in the first place.

7. Terri Trespicio: stop searching for your passion. Your passion is your thoughts, they can change. Don't search for your passion, live your life and your passion will follow you.

8. Shonda Rhimes: My year of saying yes to everything. Wasn't what I expected this to be about - it focused on the need for 'play' to switch off completely from work, and in doing so you are happier and able to focus better at work.

9. Andy Puddicombe: All it takes is 10 mindful minutes. It is important to pause each day and not do anything (no internet, no TV, no phone). Your thoughts may wander, try not to rethink about things.

10. Dr Ivan Joseph: The skill of self confidence. Not quite a 'how to' - lots on how to not crush the confidence of others (build them up not tear them down). Believe in yourself. (less)
