ABOUT ERITREA
Eritrea, officially the State of Eritrea, is a country in the North East of Africa. The capital is Asmara. It is bordered by Sudan in the west, Ethiopia in the south, and Djibouti in the southeast. The east and northeast of the country have an extensive coastline on the Red Sea, directly across from Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The Dahlak Archipelago and several of the Hanish Islands are part of Eritrea. Its size is just under 118,000 km (45,560 sq mi) with an estimated population of 5 million.

Popular Goals
The Dahlak Archipelago is an island group located in the Red Sea near Massawa, Eritrea. It consists of two large and 124 small islands. The pearl fisheries of the archipelago have been famous since Roman times and still produce a substantial number of pearls. Only four of the islands are permanently inhabited, of which Dahlak Kebir is the largest and most populated.
Asmara (English) is the capital city and largest settlement in Eritrea, home to a population of around 579,000 people. At an elevation of 2,325 meters (7,628 ft), Asmara is on the edge of an escarpment that is both the northwestern edge of the Great Rift Valley and of the Eritrean highlands. Textiles and clothing, processed meat, beer, shoes, and ceramics are the major industrial products.

Cities

Asmara
Various Eritrean cities have kept the marks of Italian colonialism. That is the case of Asmara, the colonial capital under the Italian occupation. When they left the country in 1941, they left behind a bit of Italy, today coloured by the bougainvilleas and the palm trees."
