ABOUT SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a nation in the Lesser Antilles chain, namely in the southern portion of the Windward Islands, which lie at the southern end of the eastern border of the Caribbean Sea where the latter meets the Atlantic Ocean. Its 389-square-kilometre (150 sq mi) territory consists of the main island of Saint Vincent and the northern two-thirds of the Grenadines, which are a chain of smaller islands stretching south from Saint Vincent Island to Grenada.

Kingstown, estimated population 15,900 (July 1999), is the chief port of Saint Vincent, and the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is located at 13°10′N 61°14′W / 13.167°N 61.233°W / 13.167; -61.233. Kingstown is a centre for the island's agricultural industry and a port of entry for tourists. Exports include bananas, coconuts, and arrowroot. France started a settlement here shortly after 1722.
Barrouallie is a town located on the island of Saint Vincent. Within Saint Patrick Parish Barrouallie is both the largest city and the parish capital. Once it was the capital of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The area is known for fishing and is famous for "Blackfish". Due to the surrounding mountains, the town is shaped into a hole that has over time has protected the town from volcanic eruptions.
