Socotra, also spelled Soqotra, is a small archipelago of four islands in the Indian Ocean. The largest island, also called Socotra, is about 95% of the landmass of the archipelago. It lies some 240 kilometres (150 mi) east of the Horn of Africa and 380 kilometres (240 mi) south of the Arabian Peninsula. The island is very isolated and through the process of speciation, a third of its plant life is found nowhere else on the planet.
Al Hajara`, sometimes spelt Al Hajjara or Al Hajjarah, is a town in Yemen. It is located in the Al Bayda' Governorate, in the Hajjaz Mountains.
Sana'a (also spelt Sanaa or Ṣan‘ā’) is the capital of Yemen and the centre of San‘a’ Governorate. Sana'a is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. At an altitude of 2,300 meters, it is also one of the highest capital cities in the world. Sana'a has a population of 1,747,627 (2004 census), making it Yemen's largest city.

Socotra Island
Socotra is the largest member of an archipelago and a four-island ellipsis that trails off the Horn of Africa into the Gulf of Aden. A mix of ancient granite massifs, limestone cliffs and red sandstone plateaus. The island is situated 250 miles off the coast of Yemen."

Al Hajjara
Al Hajjara, sometimes spelt as Al Hajara, is a historical cliff city in the Yemen’s Haraz Mountains situated west of the city of Manakhah. It is one of the most impressive and easily accessible mountain villages in Yemen. The village was literally built into the mountain with quarried stone from the mountainside nearby. Its fortified houses are made with massive blocks of unmortared stone, cluster to form an uninterrupted rampart."

Socotra Island
The landscape of remote Socotra Island looks as if it comes from a sci-fi film but in fact has evolved to look so other-worldy as the 'lost world' island has been separated from mainland Africa for between six and seven million years. Much like the Galapagos Islands, which are known for their incredible array of wildlife, Socotra Island is home to around 800 rare species of flora and fauna, around a third of which are found nowhere else on the planet."
