Amazing night. There were so many stars out in the country that the sky looked full. I could also see the center of the Milky Way were there is a faint hazy glow; it is something you definitely cannot see in the city. We decided to pitch our tents and sleep outdoors. We woke up to Stephen King's "The Mist." The fog was so dense you couldn't see 15 feet in front of you. All night long we heard this strange bird calling but couldn't place the call to anything we had heard. In the morning we walked by the side of the road and saw that Steven's neighbor had a yard sized cage with a male and female peacock! They were so stately and majestic.
