Did a practical course in ‘Aromatouch’. It was massaging people’s back, head and feet with aromatherapy oils. It included running fingers up the spine to spread the oil, pressing the hands horizontally up the sides of the back, pulling the palms up the back and arms, and walking the thumbs up the back. This was what I wanted from a practical course. It was also nice to receive a massage.

It was a cheap, quick course – similar to those I took for other goals in cryptic crosswords, hair braiding and film criticism. We didn’t have a chance to practice, but the theory and demonstration was very useful and the teacher was great. Now to put theory into practice…
