Dined at the new Dans Le Noir in Melbourne. I was surprised that my partner and I were seated with two other pairs to make a group dining experience, but it was enjoyable working together to try to figure out what we were eating. Though it was also interesting seeing where I was influenced by others making the wrong guess. The food was good - a duck with apple and lentils; beef with parsnip two ways and asparagus; mango panna cotta with fairy floss and popping candy. It truly was completely dark - similar to my Dialogue in the Dark experience last year. It wasn't as hard to eat as I thought it might be, food was in edible chunks already or easily divided. The matching wines were good too, especially the Noble One Botrytis Semillion for dessert. Our waiter was visually impaired and did a great job, it was interesting to see staff ironing things out on only the second day of operation. My only complaint was losing the sense of time passing. The website had said the experience would last two hours, but in fact it turned out to be over three which meant we missed the film we had planned to see afterwards.
