I just broke a 23 day streak!
Month 2: July 30-August 28
Finally I managed to get 30 days in a row again. It got easier with time - I never got into a routine of doing it the same time every day, but I did get used to knowing I had it coming up every day and remembering not to go to bed until I had meditated.
This was a stressful month: I took over my manager's role at work and got used to a different way of operating with even less structure than before; my girlfriend was overseas on a cycling trip and I was always tracking her progress except the horrible period when her tracker stopped working; I was sick for a few days; and of course the government reintroduced the postal survey on my marriage rights which has led to a lot of negativity and harsh conversations with family and pressure to make more change than I'm comfortable with. So, I think meditation has helped me keep my head during all of this.
One month to go until I can complete this goal.

I just had an 11 day streak but accidentally broke it yesterday.
I managed 19 days in a row, then missed one, then got 5 more and missed one again, then one and missed one again. I don't think I get credit yet.
Chinese Garden of Friendship is a good spot for meditation

This was the first few weeks of the meditation program I did and I managed to keep going without a break for just over a month. Most days that was meditating for 30 minutes, but some days it was only 15. Last year I felt my progress was really straightforward: my situation didn't change much, but my attitude improved a lot - a perfect advertisement for meditation. This year, the most stressful part of my work project finished not long after starting the program so my situation got better at first and it wasn't as easy to differentiate progress from meditation vs from the change. Then toward the end of that month I found myself stressing a lot about politics and the changing world, so I also felt worse. However, I think the fact that I'd been meditating by this point helped me deal with my feelings a little better.

One week so far meditating for half an hour every day, and it feels good.
I've started the Fitness for the Mind program, the same one I did late last year which made me feel happier and some good things happened in my life. There's a guided session once a week and homework to meditate for half an hour a day. I've done three days' worth so far.
