Book seven was Of Bees and Mist and was recommended by Abby Jarvis. It's an unusual book -- not for everyone. Reminiscent of Gregory Maguire's work. I liked it.

Book nine was Galileo's Daughter by Dava Sobel, recommended by Denise. I finished that a few days ago. Book ten was A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, recommended by Rahnee. Book eight was The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. Loved it. Recommended to me by Lisa Schiffren. Finished it on 5/13/12.
I finished this book, by the way, on 3/14/12.
The first book, recommended by both Bob Evans and Bob Carter (and, implicitly, John Piper and just about everybody else who's read it) is The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Started it on 1/4/12. Okay -- finished it on 1/4/12, too. Hated it -- it's SO depressing!!! BUT -- one book down!

Book six was one of the most horrible books I have ever read. Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell. I finished this depressing, awful, nasty, depressing book on 3/5/12.
Book five was Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. Touching book; it reminded me very much of Catcher in the Rye. I liked it very much. Finished it on 3/5/12.
Book four was A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken, recommended by Bruce Kirby. Fabulous, wonderful book. Finished on 3/3/12.
Book three was How It All Began by Penelope Lively. Barbarann Fernandez recommended it. I finished it on 2/24/12 and loved it. Delightful story.
