This morning I went to an open day at Masjid-E-Noor mosque, just down the other end of High Street. Shamefully, I’m really uneducated about Islam (in my day RE lessons focused on Christianity only) so it was very interesting to learn about the five pillars of Islam, the history of Islam in the UK and the role of the mosque, and also see the prayer rooms and one of the washrooms. Such a warm welcome from the imam, his wife and the other people there too.
