I finished! I re-caned the seat and back, and it turned out really nice. I'm not sure this is something I'll do again, but it was really neat to learn it and I'll be proud to live with the piece I fixed up.

I ordered the cane and other supplies this weekend from a specialized small business (in support of my reducing reliance on Amazon goal), and read some online tutorials. I also have started removing the cane from the rocker itself. I'll have to do some sanding and repairs on the chair before I can re-cane, and I think this will be a winter break project, but it was nice to start this in motion. (less)
