8.7.23 - I registered for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Services at KB.
I live 3 miles from KB in Cambridge
Went thrift shopping when mom visited second week of July
7.23.23 - went to Winchester Town Forest
Bought my plane ticket and booked my hotel in Bucharest! I'm planning to spend a week there in October and will take the train to Braşov for a day trip.
If it ever stops raining, I'll go over to We Thieves
I have plans to take an Uber to Winchester Town Forest on 7.22.23
I am simply not made for crafts
3/18/23 - donated to JJDC
3/15/23 - this is one of my physical therapy exercises for building upper body strength, and I really need to be doing it every day.
2/12/23 - RSVP'd for boardgame meetup on March 12th
2/5/23 - we did it! They turned out fairly alright, though I did somewhat burn the onions.
2/1/23 - I made these and they were absolutely delicious!
1/30/23 - Starting in February and March, I'm going to rent a car and practice driving to Wegmans.
1/30/23 - I'm steadily making progress on Chapter 5 of my Elementary Azerbaijani textbook. I'll soon be halfway through it!
1/30/23 - I'm back at it! I'm going to really try to work on my vocabulary and listening comprehension, and when I feel I've reached a decent level of both, I'll sign up for private lessons.
1/29/23 - I'm looking into fundraising for Cultural Survival and setting up a monthly donation.
1/25/23 - I might go see Frankenstein one evening in February.
1/22/23 - new playlist for winter 2023 created
1/18/23 - I will pray the full Arvit service on my own at home for 30 consecutive days and once I achieve it, I will donate a certain amount per day to the Jews of Color Initiative. (And if I don't achieve it, I will still donate).
1/18/23 - I'd really like to do a week in New Orleans, but it'll be costly, so I'm aiming for 2025 or 2026.
1/18/23 - was planning this for April, but it's more expensive than I thought it'd be, so I'm going to push this to a longer term savings goal.
1/18/23 - started looking into this, but it's on hold for now bc I am low on funds for January.
1/18/23 - I've decided to complete the CISR designation first, since I already started it. That will likely take me most of the year. Then I'll move on to the ARC designation, which my company will hopefully pay for. That'll take another year. This is a long term goal that I don't expect to achieve until my mid-30s.
1/18/23 - making steady progress at this, and it'll be an ongoing "goal"/activity.
1/18/23 - prob not gonna go in February. I calculated the cost and it's about twice as expensive as I'd thought it'd be. So I'm gonna save up for it.
1/18/23 - still haven't renewed my passport. That'll be a February item bc I'm running low on funds for January.
1/18/23 - I'm planning to sign up for spring online Yiddish courses!
1/18/23 - this was achieved but it's still sort of ongoing. I'm planning to attend Saturday services on 2/4/23.
1/18/23 - this goal is on hold until February bc I've spent too much money this month.
1/18/23 - haven't been doing the best at remembering to pray Arbit, so I've set a calendar reminder in my phone for 7pm every night. We'll see if that helps any!
1/17/23 - My new hobby is going to be fitness! I've started a very basic workout to build some core strength. My plan is to slowly build upon it over the next 2.5 months and eventually have a 30 min routine that I do multiple times a week.
1/15/23 - I am starting to pray Arbit as of tonight. I'll take it slowly and use a recording to help guide me through it to start with, but eventually J wanna be able to do it on my own.
1/14/23 - The apartment cleaning is actually coming along great! I've cleared out much of the recycling and swept the main room floor. I've also started to organize my kitchen. Hoping to be able to get a cat sitter in here by end of January!
1/14/23 - I took a semi-successful bath by blocking the drain with a washcloth and weighing it down with a bottle of laundry detergent, so I'm gonna mark this as done. But I do intend to take another tomorrow after my drain stoppers arrive.
I'm going to discuss switching from a CISR designation to an ARC designation during my performance review in March or April. I'll see if my company will pay for it. If not, it's about $2k.
1/12/23 - got my switch out of the closet and started playing Mario Kart 64
1/12/23 - I requested off 2/14/23-2/17/23 with plans to take the train to NYC. I've also gotten started on cleaning up my apartment.
1/12/23 - I cleaned my bathtub but realized that I do not have a drain stopper. So next step is to order one.
1/12/23 - This was originally a goal to get a Master's degree in Persian, but I discarded it due to infeasibility. I now want to keep the language and learning goals I had as part of this. Currently, I am working my way through Elementary Azerbaijani and Glossika Azerbaijani. I've also joined Tandem to find an Azerbaijani language exchange partner.
I've restarted working my way through Duolingo and also plan to sign up for Yiddish classes in the spring.
1/12/23 - I plan to attend Shabbat services on Friday 1/13.
1/10/23 - I ordered a splatter guard so I can make kibbeh.

I bought dried mint leaves so I can do Havdalah again. I also cleaned my Havdalah set, including the Kiddush cup.
1/10/23 - I ordered cooking supplies to make spinach & cheese filla ☺️🤙
1/8/23 - I did it! I baked cupcakes! On a whim too.
1/8/23 - I made riz b'asal (honey rice pudding) and it turned out alright! Crossing that one off the list.
1/5/23 - I made walnut-stuffed dates ☺️ It was extremely easy, but I started easy on purpose.

I chose a siddur for my daily prayer practice.
1/3/23 - Started Unit 5
I have made flashcards for the first 200 out of 500 words.
I decided not to pursue this goal due to financial infeasibility.

Lit candles every night for Hanukkah this year!
I went back to my synagogue on 12/30 and had Shabbat dinner at the synagogue president's house ☺️
12/29/22 - About to finish Unit 4 of 12
I picked up ingredients and plan to bake cupcakes on Saturday 12/31/22!
I'm planning to go to Friday night Shabbat services on 12/30/22.
Hoping to do this in Summer 2023. First step is to renew my passport.
I am hoping to enroll in Fall of 2027. I am going to start private Persian lessons at the end of December.
*cracks knuckles*
Germany, Austria, Switzerland
I mean if by "new friend" I meant new acquaintance that I actually would like to hang out with..

Then sure this is done. It's a hell of a lot more successful than I usually am socially.
So I didn't want to pollute the environment and all and was looking for some eco-friendly alternative. This proved to be pretty difficult because any time you're just gonna leave something out in the world, you're kinda polluting. So Instead I found a Jewish farm in upstate New York that is trying to create a sustainable irrigation system in order to save soil and water, and they also teach anyone who works on the farm with them Yiddish. This resonated with me so I decided wtf I'd rather do something good than just let a balloon fly away and land in some tree. So that's what I did.
Idk I might try to find some alternative that doesn't like pollute shit lol
I'll figure out wtf this means later.
I will die.

Swimming - 10 consecutive laps

btw if it doesn't make sense how this is change, i'm basically saying that i need to legit get my life together FOR FUCKING REAL THIS TIME. but i should measure it somehow. so.

1. get at least 7 hours of sleep each night
2. eat 3 meals per day AT HOME and only go out if i actually plan on going out (like...actually cook....maybe even plan meals! exciting. i'm turning 25 in a few weeks, guys.)
3. Stop worrying about how the world sucks and you can't do anything about it (gonna do a mood tracker thingy I guess...if i can go like 50% of a 30 day period without dropping into super depressive unproductive sadness mood, this will be complete)
4. KEEP. THE. HOUSE. CLEAN. FOR. FUCK'S. SAKE.
(basically I achieve this if:
1. I do laundry 3 times per week [ideally Sunday - Tuesday - Friday]
2. I run the dishwasher 3 times per week and don't live non-dishwashable things in the sink for more than 24 hours
3. I vacuum/clear the floors every 10 days
4. I take out the trash once a week on a schedule - that schedule being the day before trash pickup. Recycling too.
5. I dust/wipe down the surfaces (tables, desks, etc.) that need it at least every 5 days.)

Why is this all "embracing change?" Because I've been diagnosed with recurrent major depressive disorder and thus keeping my life together is just challenging. I need a change of attitude (no, I'm not about to vomit rainbows, I promise). I need to have an understanding that all those things above are what my life is going to be like now and that going to sleep at 5pm or staying up until 2am on a work night and just foregoing laundry and dishes and allowing myself to just ruminate over things I can't change, all of that is very different from how I currently live. And I need to embrace that idea because right now every time I've tried to change, I've gone into it with the attitude that I want to stay how I am now or at least be as comfortable as possible. Depression sucks. People deal with it in different ways. I'm not going to be able to magic away my depression, but if I can at least eliminate those things that almost certainly exacerbate it, then maybe I can stop hating my life. See, definitely didn't vomit rainbows there

aka get my fricking sleep schedule in order and actually be prepared for the day ahead of me instead of dreading it
Yeeeeee!
Need to do extensive research to ensure I'm not doing anything unethical before I do this
Saving up...gonna do this one way or another.
1. Machu Picchu, Peru
2. The Colisseum in Rome
3. Petra, Jordan
4. Christ Redeemer, Brazil
