Herbs planted--might need to get a new Dill, though
Better than that: I am now a certified EMT!
Had to restart due to illness. 30 Days would be 21 November. Let's hope.
https://www.goodreads.com/user_challenges/3965021 Here's my goodreads list. I was very ill and had no energy to come here for a while.
Siddhartha Mukherjee's The Gene
Netherlands, China, Canada, Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Taiwan, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland!!
Furiously Happy by Jennie Lawson
Wrote a letter to my parents to thank them for the wonderful start and opportunities they gave me in life. I wish I had done better with what they gave me.
Charles Krauthammer's Things That Matter.
What a nightmare this is turning out to be! Ordered 8 weeks ago. Got shipping notice a week ago that never updated, so I contacted and she got SNIPPY with me. Look, lady, it's been two months. I paid cash up front. I deserve to have some faith that when you say something shipped, it SHIPPED and you didn't just print out the label and leave it on your counter for a week.

Mucho aggro. Really souring me on the site.
How's about Team Yarnbox at the Ravellenic Games? I'll be knitting with other people!
Oops, changed it to a class on Kundalini Yoga, which has now become my jam!
Intrepid Museum and silly-fun Star Trek exhibit
Despite not really liking Matt Damon, I have to admit I liked the movie more. That said, the movie wasn't perfect. It annoyed me how they kept calling him Mark and not Watney, but compared to the book they streamlined a lot of the problems I had with the book. Weir's book, basically, was like every time he got bored he just cooked up another thing that could go horribly wrong. It made an uneven and WHAT NOW kind of read. This had a clearer arc, though Jessica Chastain was...really not good in this.
Henry Marsh's Do No Harm. It's a memoir of a neurosurgeon, where he talks pretty openly about the distance doctors try to feel toward their patients; the mistakes they make. It's heartbreaking and angering at the same time, because he does NOT hold back in his indictment of the NHS, which is, seriously, just killing people. I thought I'd learn some fun neuroscience stuff...instead I've got a whole new perspective on health care.
Started reading The Martian today: library has a copy of the DVD, which I'll get when I finish the book.
Vulcan's Hammer by Philip K Dick. Apparently it's considered one of his best?
Maybe Zoo Knoxville in October?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hySkwXMn0pA It's been bugging me for ages but I guess somehow, today's the day to learn! DONE!

Shark exhibit!
Discovering psychology with Zimbardo
