With over 5 new breweries opening in my city, going to a new brewery in every city I visit, and the beer festival... there's absolutely no way I haven't done this yet.
3) Love in a Time of Cholera
Just as delicious as I imagined!
The bottle I bought at the new winery in Germantown was $26. Drinking is still on the horizons!
3) funk of a night and wrote a poem called bleeding in the sun
very uplifting.
very uplifting.
honestly decided that I could do a professional massage a couple times a week and safely never need a boyfriend. it was amazing. (Kidding but not kidding)
1 ) Pans Labyrinth
Have been doing friend meals fairly frequently. Actually did a ground turkey/sweet potato bake, spaghetti, AND a baked chicken burrito deal in the last few months. Makes my heart smile.
Tour de Wisconsin Wineries - was a blast in great company!! Went to 4 wineries within a couple hours of Milwaukee.
2) short little one titled "invisible"
Can't find our dressiest of photos but this one will do!
Since becoming a member of the art museum, we have been going regularly to their After Dark events which usually also means we have been dressing up once a month!

Note added to goal Go on at least 3 local hikes. (e.g. Holy Hill or Kettle Moraine.)
Holy Hill, Doctor's Park, Grant Park! Amazing hikes in the area!
Loved this game...finally got to play and now am putting on my holiday wishlist!
It was amazing!!! Did so in the company of a few friends and played games, watched some tv shows. Then we did, indeed, sleep in the space that once occupied the tent...as it had started coming down amidst the fun.
1) last night - titled "blink"
STARTED TODAY! I'm including elliptical. Don't judge. There will be a mix of both but today I did 5 miles! Let the counter officially start - 25 to go!
The slide at State Fair - hadn't done this since I was little! So much fun
Going for Zoo A La Carte this week!! Feast with the Beasts!
I signed up to take a Buddhism class...it starts at the end of this month!
So this happened without me even remembering that I had wanted to!! I went camping with a few friends last month which also included tubing down a river! To add to this lovely event - pudgy pies and lots of other tasty snacks were involved!
Memorial overlooking the One World Trade Center. A powerful and moving memorial and museum...words will not do it, or the victims, justice. I will keep hoping for peace.
WE DID IT! Sgt. Keith A Ferguson Memorial 5K in New York, New York over the Brooklyn Bridge. An experience I will never forget among a community filled with such passion and love. So honored to have been a part of it and to have shared this memory with Trista!
Devil's Lake Hike - 6/14/2015
Finally!!
Saw the show last night with a few friends and LOVED it!!!
1) Doing a Crockpot Cheesy Potato Recipe that I haven't yet tried and has been pinned on one of my boards for absolute ages. I'll try to add a photo once it's complete as of Sunday! 5/21/15
Photo added to goal Visit one new big US City (Must fall into top 50 for population.)
Hollywood Sign as seen from Griffith Observatory.

Note added to goal Visit one new big US City (Must fall into top 50 for population.)
Had the privilege of going to Los Angeles for Work and with that, was able to stay for a few extra days to see the city (and Hollywood!) Met some fantastic people and had a blast. Excited to do some more exploring (and perhaps actually see the beaches) next year when the conference returns to LA!
Note added to goal Visit one new big US City (Must fall into top 50 for population.)
Not necessarily how I wanted to complete this, but I will be going to Los Angeles for work in May!
2/5 - Just completed a month without soda! Had my first soda today...but I think this is worthy of a life change. New rules to continue to, at the least, limit my soda intake. It's simply not good for me and I gotta be good to me.
1/4/15: Trista has demanded that we start this today (technically yesterday for me, as I didn't drink soda yesterday). So here goes...no soda for one month. I'll check back on the 5th of February...and will take a soda with my Feb 5th soda. ;)
1/5/15 - Bought tickets for late May!! There will be a group of 7 of us - so excited!
DONE! Listened to Me Before You...though it took me a bit to get into it, it ended up being a decent listen. And I've decided I want to start using audio books when I work out so I can be super productive with my time. The photo above is from the car as we were headed to Asheville...we spent 14 of the hours on the way there and back listening to the book.
Received the puzzle for Christmas! It's from the beautiful Bavarian Castle and from my sister so extra special.
Will start soon and take a photo of the end result in all its beauty.

Have 80 so far...which is excellent progress in my opinion.
12/31/14: Received a portable propane grill for christmas! I'm so excited to be able to grill my hot dogs on the city streets or parks! I will take a photo when it's warm enough to do such and post here!
Community Shares had our Campaign Victory Party at Shank Hall featuring Modest Mondays. Though lower attendance than I had hoped for, it was lovely to experience the venue and the band was ridiculously talented.
Over a Friendsgiving in Asheville, NC, we hiked to Triple Falls (seen here), Hooker Falls, and Bridal Veil. This was the best photo I got, but Bridal Veil was such a great experience as we ate lunch on a rock slab next to the water fall and then laid down near it watching the water rush underneath!
We have been actively using this in our LMS for the past few months to help us create a better learning environment. I love the type of analytics this is able to pull.
Danube River, Budapest, Hungary --> from the citadel on Buda side.
Hungary (Budapest) & Germany (Munich). Unbelievable trip that I will never forget - very symbolic and circular in an odd way. Sometimes things end in a similar way that they start.

Gave my parents the second to last check this weekend - will be paying the remainder next month! Counting as done because it's "in the bank." 9/23/14
The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison - This was a little one, only half an inch.
And here's the end result - the colors aren't true yet...I'll try to upload the final!
Went Glassblowing at the Hot Shop Glass in Racine. It was such a wonderful experience and we had a great instructor in Amanda above. Her patience and sense of humor definitely made the experience. Can't wait to display my final product. In this photo, I'm making the design, pulling the colors and then also swirling for a beautiful pattern...
Hollow City by Random Riggs (6/8) ~ 1 inch
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett (7/12) ~ 1 inch
The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf (7/27) ~ 1 inch

Special thanks to the parents of this little guy for entrusting me to attempt to defeat one of my fears - holding a baby. Baby Carl and I totally rocked it out surrounded by a plush couch, his mother, and some additional friend support. The interesting piece to this...is I now believe this has set a precedent and every single one of my friends who has a baby may require this. ;) Ah well, glad to have started it with Baby Carl! (Do I look afraid?)
I had been doing, throughout the last couple of years, some natural tooth whitening processes such as eating certain types of foods (carrots and apples primarily) that help naturally scrub and whiten teeth.
I have also since tried a "whitening brush." I'm only going to try temporarily to see what it does/how it looks. I know teeth whitening pastes/gels can have a negative impact on one's teeth so I also want to be careful.
Anyway - CHECK.

Submitted my poem First World Problems to the goodreads poetry contest.
Fingers crossed! I will be so ever so happy if I even make the top three for this month!

Got about halfway through this goal and I'm optimistic it will be done by years end.
It's not even that I'm desperate...I did go snow shoeing the day I had hoped to go cross country skiing. Perhaps I should have said, "try to enjoy winter in wisconsin"
I'm counting it...it's my list, darnit!
I'm counting it...it's my list, darnit!

This was actually harder than I thought it'd be but still really nice to get back into the therapeutic coloring.

Tandem Kayak Rented...Trista and I are going tomorrow after work!! I didn't think this one would be able to be squeaked in before the end of my list...so thankful for Trista for being my biggest support in my 101 Mission...sometimes more energized than even I was at times. It has really kept me motivated and reaching to get more accomplished. If she reads this - I hope she knows that I want to be that same support for her list.
You Rock!

There is actually a poetry contest done through goodreads. I will be submitting next month. Possibly not a chance I'll make it...but I'm going to try! Can I count this as a halfsies?
May 2014 - LAST ONE!!
Documentary titled: How China Fooled the World. BBC.

5/3/14. Had SO much fun doing this. Trista helped me accomplish this goal and we happily rented a bike from the urban ecology center. (they have one pretty sweet tandem.) We took it on the Oak Leaf trail to Brady Street where we dined outside (gorgeous weather) and then along the lake through veterans park, past the summerfest grounds and to a fro-yo place just south of the third ward. Definitely different experiences pending if you're in the front versus the back and definitely one of the best afternoons. So happy I was able to complete this goal and was able to do so with Trista. #doubletrouble
Note added to goal Attend a church/religious/faith service different than my own
I'm going to count this...which might be desperate...but I'm still going to count it.
A year or two ago, Nikki and I went to the Buddhist Temple south of Madison. It was outstanding and my first time at a temple. We ended up meditating, taking in the charms and pieces left behind from people, the prayer flags, and in the temple talking to a monk about faith. If that isn't ever along these lines, I don't know what is. At that time I didn't fully identify as a Buddhist Christian... so it counts!

Going with Trista on Saturday!!!!
March / April 2014 - How Love Changed the World
I thought this would be something different...but now I guess I'm more educated on some more delicate subjects?
Only one doc left!

Jan/Feb 2014 - How to Be Slim - BBC Documentary
Basically it tells you...if you're fat, you simply eat too much. (OR, you ingest more energy via calories than your body uses...)
Uhh, I knew that? I guess doesn't hurt to hear again...
ALMOST CAUGHT UP ON MY DOCS. ONLY 2 MORE TO WATCH AND THIS IS DONE!

So here's the deal...I know how. I just don't always have the power / tools to do it. AND, I now have AAA...so at this time don't need to!

Nov/Dec 2013: The Cancer Conspiracy Documentary 2014
I always find conspiracy theories interesting...this is no different. You just never know...
I always find conspiracy theories interesting...this is no different. You just never know...
This was a lot harder than you might imagine. I completed it tonight. I will double check later that I didn't repeat any but I'm just going to let me be proud right now!!

Sept/Oct 2013 - "Dark Girls"--A Look At Colorism and Internalized Racism In The Black Community.
Really interesting. Glad I put focus for this one on social justice...understanding, learning.

July / August 2013 - The Boy With The Incredible Brain - Documentary
My favorite part was sadly that at 46 minutes they were at the Milwaukee Art Museum! So cool to see Milwaukee's beautiful museum on a documentary! Interesting ...nothing to write home about.

May / June 2013 - Educating North Korea - BBC HD Panorama 2014 Documentary
Short...but shows a bit of the "progressive" education that has started for a few in North Korea. Eye opening to the lack of freedom that exists in the country.

4/11 I actually have been doing this! For the past few nights I've been doing stretches and will wonders never cease - I've also been running again! Bring it on health and exercise, bring it on!
Work in progress - always will be. But at least now I allow myself to blush and about 75% don't fight the compliment...just say thank you. That's enough for me to count as done. (or I'm just getting fretful that this list is coming to an end and I still have tons left!)
10) Packages were delivered by FedEx to my building despite them being for the building two blocks down. I walked them over and hand delivered one of them to the proper place...oddly that included a tanning salon. The other, I contacted via facebook and offered to help her get her package.
3/26: Since volunteering with Fair Wisconsin didn't work out as I had planned (couldn't get in touch, sadly...and wasn't hearing back when I contacted. Probably lots of reasons; no hard feelings), I started volunteering regularily with an organization that supports 50 local non-profits INCLUDING Fair Wisconsin. I'm determined! I'm not on the Events Committee and so excited to be able to put my skills and passions to work. Lots in store for me - but I can't wait to see where this takes me and how many outstanding individuals from the community I will meet. #paz
3/20: YAY! Went to the Ethiopian Cottage with Ann & Laura and it was a delight! Between conversations on anxiety and in general how to eat ethiopian style...we had a fantastic meal...ANNND THIS ONE IS DONEZO! #bam
3/15 : Marking as complete because my home chia pet (i will do the one at work this next week) is now planted!!! it takes but a few days I think for growth to start, but hoping for a successful experience! chachachachiiiia!
3/15 - I honestly hadn't thought that I would be able to do this one - it was a very aggressive goal especially considering my travel goals. I know putting focus on this one, as well as having to buy a new car unexpectedly, has hindered some of my other financial goals...I'm still proud to be able to have completed this one!
Yay!
Yay!
