Figure out 5 ways to reduce my impact on the environment, and act on them
This was pretty tough to figure out as almost all of the suggestions I could find online were things we're already doing.
That includes:
Buying in bulk
Composting
Growing our own food
Not using synthetic chemicals in the home or garden
Turning electronics off at the wall
Owning a hybrid car
Washing clothes in cold water
Using a washing line not a dryer
Only washing dishes and laundry when we have a full load
Walking or using public transport wherever possible
When the car has to be used, combining errands
Making meals from scratch
Reducing meat intake
Buying second hand as much as possible - furniture, clothing, etc
Owning energy efficient appliances
Owning a small home - 90m2/969f2
Using reusables - water bottles, shopping bags, straws, baking mats/liners, bee wrap, face cloths, etc
Having a water filter
Glass, paper, aluminium gets recycled. So does plastic that can be done here in NZ.
Working remotely
Supporting brands that are both local and sustainable when we do have to buy new.
Big things like installing solar are on the long term list but we have to replace our roof first.
We also plan to reupholster our couch instead of replacing it.

1. Install bidet attachments in our home (1/3 done, waiting for the kids to get a little older for the others)
2. Compost whenever possible (done)
3. Cloth diaper (done, and when P is nighttime trained we will be done with diapers, so they will be sold or donated to allow for additional positive impact)
4. Minimize use of paper towels by using rags (done and I will never go back)
5. Use cloth shopping bags and mesh produce bags.

I bought reusable produce bags. Love them. Actually think I will have to get more since I have been purchasing so many fruits and vegetables.
Bought reusable metal and bamboo straws for myself and family. Just need to get better about carrying them with me outside of the house.
I have been better about using my reusable shipping bags.
