Today I was up at 4.30am and out the house by 5am, which meant I enjoyed the beautiful wintry sunset this morning while I was out monitoring, then I left work in time to watch a stunning sunset, red, golds and burnt oranges, with radiation fog creeping up the fields beside the road. Stunning and very energising to experience.
I made a Christmas pudding on Stir Up Sunday in 2014, using this recipe:

Note added to goal Have a Lord of the Rings Movie Marathon Day with hobbit food
We watched the first Hobbit film, and all three Lord of the Rings films, all extended editions. We are porridge for first breakfast, bacon rolls for second breakfast, honey cake for elevensies, leek and po-ta-toe soup with fougasse ( a flat bread shaped like a leaf) for luncheon, fresh baked bread, cold mears, cheeses and blackberry tarts for afternoon tea, were too full for dinner and ate cheese for supper. I also made a hobbit house cake and we made Orc banners to decorate with. It was a really fun day!
I made a loaf of real bread, from scratch, by hand, after work this evening. I've also got a pre ferment going, for fougasse, which I'll make tomorrow. I'm feeling very accomplished!
Visited Whipsnade Zoo today, a bright and blowy Autumn day. Highlights were the month old baby elephant, the elephants taking a walk around the zoo, the brown Bears, baby giraffe and the sealions. It was a lovely day.
My hair is now red! 😜

We planted wildflower seeds around our plum tree at the end of the garden, on bare ground where we've taken up the grass. We spread seed of the following plants: yellow rattle, poppy (purple ones)- we collected these seeds ourselves. Then a packet wildflower mix of wild marjoram; field poppy; red campion; selfheal; wild carrot; birdsfoot trefoil; cornflower; wild red clover; musk mallow; sainfoin; common vetch. Can't wait to see them come up in the spring.
I read "The Memory Book" by Rowan Coleman. A sad, funny, touching, beautiful book about a woman in her forties with familial early onset Alzheimer's Disease. It's a beautiful portrayal of family life, memories and love. A great way to spend an overcast Saturday.

Two days down, one day to go and I scored 20/20 on the first test!
I'm one day in to a three day First Aid at Work course. This goal should be achieved by the end of the week.
